The First season of supergirl aired in May 2105. Its production had already picked up pace in 2014. After the arrival of the second season of this series, the series generally go to positive reviews from the critics. And the audience was already loving the story. Critics have also highly rated the dresses, performances, direction, and themes addressed. Season 5 ended in 2019, and the making of season 6 began almost during the same time. It didn’t feel that the makers had to wait for the audience’s response on this series. It seems like they were sure that the series would receive a positive response and started working on the next season almost immediately. The showrunners for the finale season of Supergirl will be Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner. The filming of this season had already begun in Jan 2020. But due to the global pandemic, it was pushed to a later date in October. Initially, the filming was set to resume after Benoist returned from her Maternity leave. But as the pandemic hit the world, the filming couldn’t take place. So the filming was rescheduled to September 29. Again it was further delayed to October as the tests of many cast and crew members had not arrived yet. The early filming proceeded in the absence of Benoist. But later, it coped up after her return in Jan 2021. The crew finally got enough episodes ready for the release of this series. But still, there is some portion of the filming which is yet to be shot. This is expected to conclude around the 6th of August 2021.
